Shakespeare Theater is reopening the James Baldwin epic for a limited two week run September 14 – September 26 as it and other theaters across the greater DC area have united to require that their audiences provide proof of vaccination in order to attend all live performances at indoor venues.

The Afro–American Historical and Genealogical Society (AAHGS) annual conference is October 13–16 and again will be virtual. The early registration deadline is Tuesday, August 31, 2021. The National Black Memorabilia, Fine Art, and Craft Show has postponed its annual event for the second year in a row.

This issue has a plethora of new headings including Books, Fashion (a talk with Tracee Ellis Ross and others), History and Black History, Opening, Movies, and Music to cover new events. The history event is an online workshop. Both movies are online, one Christian and the other a story of entrepreneurs with disabilities. Most events are free.
