Red Harlem: When Harlem Comes to Moscow
"Red Harlem" highlights the true story of the Communist Party's 1930s recruitment efforts, focusing on a never–completed propaganda film with Black Harlem performers, written by Langston Hughes and shot in the Soviet Union. The play opens at Boyle Heights' Company of Angels in Los Angeles.
STAR–TIDES: Great Exhibition for STEM Families
Port of Harlem has covered or visited the events recalling demonstrations of converting wastewater into drinking water, constructing modular homes in a day, and various solar cooking equipment. Participants are free to ask questions and often able to touch and explore the exhibitions.
Black History Online from Howard University to the National Museum of Kenya
The Center for African Studies at Howard University added animations of historical figures from the Ghana Empire to their Gold Road Interactive Map. From the National Museum of Kenya, The Shujaa Stories breathe life into the legends of Kenyan heroes. "The Shujaa Stories are needed to supplement African American and other's views of the world," added Port of Harlem magazine Facebook follower Socrates Mwash Mwalandi.
