The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) awarded The Eritrean Auditor General, Mr. Berhane Habtemariam, for his “outstanding contribution in the accounting and finance profession.” He received the award for his contribution in building a transparent and corruption-free country in the last 15 years and for being one of those who struggled to overcome the challenge of effectively starting the profession in a nation that has risen from war.
